James is passionate about the environment and sustainability. He founded Lighter after recognising the need for more energy efficient and effective lighting in commercial and industrial enterprises.
James has a Masters in Applied Science and has held numerous roles in the private and public sector involving sustainability, renewable energy, carbon emission measurement reduction and financial trading and risk.
When not working, you'll find James competing in Waka Ama, running on the Port Hills, fishing or enjoying beach walks and brunch with his partner and their dog.

Anita is a highly valued member of the Lighter family, having worked in the lighting industry for over 11 years, she’s an absolute pro and ensures every install runs smoothly. In 2019, Anita earned a prestigious scholarship in the Women in Construction Sector, leading her to pursue a comprehensive study in Workplace Health and Safety, which she successfully completed in 2021.
Outside of work, Anita enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. She is a fierce competitor on the netball court, both in women's leagues and social mixed games and also enjoys fishing in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds with her family.
